LiveNext public holiday
The next public holiday where you are, and the days off that turn one into four.
Shows the next public holiday for your state or country and counts down to it by the hour. Then the useful part: a twelve-month view of where leave is worth spending, from the one day that buys a four-day weekend to the handful that turn Christmas or Easter into a fortnight.

Before you buy a motorbike
What the Hurt Report found about how riders crash, and which of it you control.
The Hurt Report investigated 900 motorcycle crashes on the scene in Los Angeles and published 55 findings in 1981. This shows the ones a new rider can act on: what actually hits you, the two seconds you get to do something about it, and which choices the study found made a measurable difference. Its age and its one city are stated on the page rather than buried.

BetaLunch dice
Rolls a die over the places you could walk to for lunch and picks one.
Set how far you will walk, the rating and the number of reviews you insist on, and which cuisines are out, then press the dice. It picks one place from what Google says is nearby and open, with the walk, the direction and a link to paste into the group chat. The last five it landed on sit the next rolls out, so pressing again takes you somewhere else.

Still Grade
Grade a photograph the way a colourist grades a film, with the scopes to judge it.
Opens one image and gives it a colour page: a vectorscope, waveform, parade and histogram beside primary wheels, curves, hue curves and a colour qualifier, stacked as layers you can reorder and turn off. Hovering the picture marks the trace and hovering the trace picks those pixels out of the picture. The file never leaves the browser — it is decoded, graded on your own graphics card, and exported from the same tab.

Brick wall generator
Design a brick wall in a real bond, then count what it takes to build it.
Pick a masonry bond, mix up to three brick types in whatever ratio you want, and adjust how they are distributed, how irregular the wall is and where the light falls. The wall is generated brick by brick from the coursing rules rather than tiled from a texture, so the quantities are counted off the wall on screen, cut bricks included, and change when the bond does.

HDR, explained
Find out whether your screen can show light brighter than white, using your own eyes.
Reports what your browser and display claim about HDR, then tests whether you can actually see it: three rounds of patches carrying a stated quantity of light, above the white that SDR treats as its ceiling. A rendered workshop scene compares full HDR against an honestly tone-mapped SDR version and maps the pixels SDR cannot hold. What a browser reports and what a screen does are different questions, and this asks both.

DICOM viewer
Opens a CT or MR scan from a disc, folder or zip and shows it in three planes and 3D.
Reads the files a scanning centre hands out, including the compressed kinds, finds every series on the disc and opens the one you pick as linked axial, coronal and sagittal views beside a 3D render you can turn and cut open. Windows, slabs, measurements and PNG export. The scan is read by your own browser and never leaves the device.

Video stabiliser
Takes the shake out of a video in your browser, with vid.stab. Nothing is uploaded.
Drop in a clip and it measures how the camera moved, frame by frame, smooths the path it took, and plays the result against the original while you change the settings. Presets for handheld, walking, running, vehicles and a locked-off tripod, or every vid.stab setting by hand. Exports MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM, decoded, stabilised and encoded on your own machine.

Collage
Lays out photos for reports and before-and-after comparisons, with magnified callouts.
Layouts that suit the number of photos, or freeform placement with snapping and exact numbers. Magnify a detail beside a photo with a cone or over it as an inset, compare before and after side by side or one above the other, and write each photo's capture date, camera and exposure onto it. Exports PNG, JPEG or PDF from the originals, in the browser.

BetaSurf?
Which Sydney beach to surf, and when, scored by the hour from swell, wind and tide.
Scores 28 beaches from Palm Beach to Garie for every hour of the next seven days, from the forecast swell, wind and tide measured against what each beach likes. Says whether it is worth going, which beaches are best within a drive of home and the hours to go in, with the reason in a line. The forecast is shown beside what the Sydney wave buoy is measuring.
